Safia Noon
From a young age, nature and culture have fascinated me: how inspiration can be drawn from each and distil down to a detail, a hint of themselves in a larger design.
Each of my designs is unique; a blend of the client's identity, my wealth of industry experience and, most importantly, a distinct focus on quality and function. Working from my workshop, nestled in two acres of tranquil mature gardens in Cornwall, I design and craft beautiful bespoke items of furniture from my home, for yours.
I always consider nature and society in my practice and will always be led by my ideals in life and business, please feel free to ask me about the heritage of the wood used in a design or the methods of construction I can use for your one-of-a-kind item.
2012
2012 was a pivotal moment for me, I knew I loved creating, learning and the art of woodworking but this year I started my journey combining all three in the beautiful location of Cornwall. My studies in Falmouth taught me so much and gave me the opportunity to expand and explore my own styles and skills.
2015
Straight out of University, and for the next nine years I've had a career in the Design industry. I've worked as a Furniture Team leader and workshop Manager and eventually became a Design Coordinator for one of the UK's leading wooden furniture and lighting manufacturers. I have won awards in cabinet making, and worked on projects with the likes of Selfridges, Chelsea Flower Show, Colicci, and other high-profile names and businesses along the way.
2024
ATELIER SAFIA was launched in 2024 with a need to express and flex my creative and making muscles. I want to bring all of the passion of my craft, culture and experience and share my fascination with wood with every client along the journey.
