Let's craft something timeless, inspired by nature and tailored to you.
My Story
Welcome to Atelier Safia, where artistry meets nature in the heart of Cornwall. With over a decade of experience in the design industry, I bring a unique perspective to creating bespoke wooden furniture. Every piece I craft is more than just furniture - it’s a harmonious blend of my skills, your vision, and the enduring beauty of wood.
From my tranquil workshop surrounded by two acres of lush, mature gardens, I design and create furniture that feels at home in yours. Nature has always been my muse, from the textures of wood grain to the interplay of light and shadow. My designs honor the natural world while serving the needs and individuality of each client.
My journey began in 2012 at Falmouth University, where I honed my craft and developed a deep appreciation for blending form, function, and sustainability. After graduating, I immersed myself in the design industry, leading teams, managing workshops, and coordinating projects for one of the UK’s premier wooden furniture and lighting manufacturers. Over the years, I’ve collaborated with renowned names such as Selfridges, Chelsea Flower Show, and Colicci, earning awards for cabinet-making excellence along the way.
In 2024, I founded Atelier Safia to combine my creative freedom, technical expertise, and love of woodworking. Every piece I create tells a story - yours, mine, and the heritage of the wood itself. From sourcing sustainable materials to using time-honored techniques, I pour my heart into every detail.
Whether you’re an interior designer working on a luxury residence or a homeowner seeking something extraordinary, my process is collaborative and deeply personal. I invite you to explore the heritage of the wood, the methods I use, and the endless possibilities we can create together.
Process
My process is all about you, from start to finish. First step: I need to know what you want and, just as importantly, don’t want. I'll come back to you with questions, recommendations and rough sketches. This is such an important and exciting time for the project. If the design is calling out to you, we can then start talking about more specific details. You'll receive sketches, technical drawings and 3D CAD models so you can fully immerse yourself in the design before committing. Then it's all down to me to bring our joint vision to life. Images of your item can be provided mid-project, alternatively you can wait until delivery for a grand reveal.
